Revenge

The Opening Film is preceded by talk “Death by Thousand Bites”
If we were to tell you that our festival on genre film is set to start with a science lecture, you’d probably think: “WTF!?”. And this is exactly how we like it!  Simon Garnier (read his bio below!) will join us on Opening Night to introduce us to the greatest hunter mankind ever encountered… and you’re never going to forget her. Expect anything!

NYC PREMIERE The first feature from writer-director Coralie Fargeat is a treat for anyone looking for a true adrenaline rush. REVENGE is exactly the kind of blood-thirsty, action-packed powerhouse of a thriller that you’ll never forget and definitely won’t regret. It’s one hell of an Opening Night film!

Jennifer (Matilda Lutz) arrives at her married lover Richard’s luxurious hunting cabin hidden in the desert, planning to spend a quiet couple’s weekend together. But when Richard’s friends Stan and Dimitri show up, everything starts to derail, especially after Stan and Dimitri are left alone with Jennifer one morning. Much to her surprise, Richard doesn’t really care what’s happened to his girlfriend his absence, and when Jennifer tries to escape, the men move quickly to attempt to stop her.

Strap yourself to your seat, because you’re about to be dragged along on the year’s most hair-raising hunt, with star Matilda Lutz determined to go right through  anyone who would get between her and freedom. This is a movie that you’ll need a seatbelt and all ten fingers to survive, and, yes, we consider that a treat. Let the games begin!
